Position Description:
The 2nd Shift Supervisor leads a team of cardiographic technicians and is responsible for consistent and accurate delivery of cardiac monitoring services provided by Medtronic Monitoring, Inc. by ensuring effective interpretation and QA of transmitted ECGs, review and delivery of Clinical Reports as well as communication with Physicians and Patients regarding transmitted ECG data by their team.  In addition to ensuring efficient operations for their shift, the Shift Supervisor will continually assess individual and team performance, identify development opportunities and coach employees for success.  The Shift Supervisor will serve as an authority figure to handle clinical data decisions for their team, will have active interaction with Monitoring Center management and directly support the development and maintenance of key procedures, ongoing QA and team training initiatives. 
 
Position Responsibilities:
·         Interprets and annotates ECGs
·         Generates, reviews and delivers Clinical Reports to prescribing Physicians
·         Identifies rhythms that meet Notification criteria and follows Notification Procedures
·         Communicates with Patients, Physicians and Allied Healthcare Professionals on the phone
·         Develops daily work assignments for the team
·         Works on-call, including holidays, with the Monitoring Center Manager and has 24/7 access to Medtronic Emails
·         Collects data for QA, executes on quality initiatives and prepares periodic reports, as defined
·         Works with Quality Partners to provide Call Audit feedback to technicians based on weekly Call Reviews
·         Handles escalations and complaints as needed
·         Proactively evaluates the need for capacity to complete critical tasks and manages upgrades to technician responsibilities and system permissions
·         Conducts software and process training for new employees
·         Coaches employees to improve performance
·         Leads one-on-one training of cardiographic technicians
·         Provides input into hiring decisions and leads periodic and annual employee performance reviews
·         Works closely with the manager to assure staffing is adequate and to adjust staffing schedules as needed
·         Participates in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures
·         Other responsibilities as defined by the Monitoring Center Manager and Medtronic Monitoring, Inc. management
 
Basic Qualifications:
High School Degree OR GED
CCT or CRAT Certification (Active)
3+ years of cardiac monitoring in acute setting, physician practice, or other relevant experience
 
Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required
ECG Interpretation
 
Desired Qualifications:
·         5+ years of cardiac monitoring in an acute setting, physician practice or other relevant environment
·         Significant level of Physician, Allied Healthcare Professional and Patient interaction
·         Bachelor’s degree or higher
·         Previous supervisory experience
