The Catheterization Lab Clinician RN is an integral member of the catheterization lab team and demonstrates clinical expertise and advanced decision making skills, serves as a resource for peers, co-workers, and patients/families and assumes leadership responsibilities as necessary.  Is responsible for the operation, maintenance and application of cardiac catheterization and interventional applications including but not limited to: imaging; physiologic monitoring, analysis, and documentation; anticoagulation and hematologic monitoring/analysis; blood gas and chemistry monitoring/analysis; administration of medications, administration of blood components; procedure assisting; inventory management and control; database entry; and any other duties as assigned.  Minimum qualifications include:
1. Graduate of an approved school of nursing, prefer BSN;
2. Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio or ability to obtain transfer;
3. One year experience as a catheterization lab nurse and/or one year critical care experience is required;
4. Congenital heart disease experience preferred;
5. PALS certification within one year of employment;
6. Must maintain necessary certification.
With experts in all areas of surgical and medical subspecialties, The Heart Center comprehensive team of cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists, nurses and technicians have available resources, including an accredited echocardiography laboratory  by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL), to provide state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging, diagnosis, intervention, surgery and support for the patient and patient’s family.
